Carol completed Florida Trust School and Florida Graduate Trust School. She has held the position of Client Service Representative and worked several years as a Branch Manager. She joined the trust department with American Bank and Trust which was acquired by Citizens Bank and Trust. Prior to establishing Aventail Wealth Management, she held the position of Vice President and Senior Trust Advisor. Carol served as President of the Polk County Estate Planning Council, in 2015-2016. She has a unique ability to understand the technical aspects of Wealth Management while also having a strong ability to understand how to deliver an extremely high level of genuine personal care. Carol often states that true holistic wealth management is more than just mathematics, markets and the economy.
Brian C. Ulch
Senior Portfolio Manager
Brian earned his Bachelors of Science in Accounting degree from the University of Central Florida. After working at the CPA firm, Britton and Mendez, he returned to UCF and earned his Master's in Business Administration. Brian completed Florida Graduate Trust School in 2000 and earned the designation of Certified Trust and Estate Specialist from the Institute of Business and Finance. Brian was a commercial analyst specializing in spreading financials for the citrus industry with SunTrust Bank. Over 16 years ago he moved over to the trust department at SunTrust Bank as a portfolio manager. Prior to establishing Aventail Wealth Management he spent six years as Vice President and Trust Portfolio Manager with Citizens Bank & Trust. Brian served as the President of the Estate Planning Council of Polk County, in 2013-2014. Brian can often be heard advising to do the opposite of the masses. His number one goal is to help individuals find and maintain financial comfort.
Client Relationship Officer
In 2009, Heather Graduated Chain of Lake Collegiate High School with Honors. Later, she graduated Polk State College with an Associate in Arts Degree. During a summer break in high school, Heather participated in an internship with Summit Consulting and worked in their Compliance Department. There, she learned skills that would help her stay organized and proficient. After graduating high school in 2009, Heather worked at a restaurant for three years achieving the position of manager within 8 months. In 2012, Heather began working in retail banking for Citizens Bank and Trust. After two and a half years, she joined the bank's Trust Department as a Trust Administrative Specialist. In early 2016, Heather joined Aventail Wealth Management as the firm’s Client Relationship Officer. She also joined Aventail’s ownership group with Brian Ulch and Carol Shira. She is a current member of Estate Planning Council of Polk County. She is also the current Marketing/Communication Chair of Endeavor Winter Haven (formerly known as Winter Haven Young Professionals Group). Heather has been a resident of Polk County all of her life. She grew up enjoying the outdoors. Her favorite moments are being able to watch a sunrise from a boat on the water or a tree stand in the woods.
Junior Portfolio Manager
In June 2015, Austin graduated from Chain of Lakes Collegiate High School with a total of 50 college credit hours. He graduated with a 3.5 GPA and was awarded over $2,000 in scholarships. Over the course of his four years in high school, he attained 250 service hours by helping out at community events. In 8th grade, Austin earned his Eagle Scout through Troop 888. He is currently enrolled at Polk State College. He has earned his Associate in Arts degree and is continuing his education at Polk to earn his Bachelor's degree in Business Management. During this process, Austin works at Aventail Wealth Management full time as an Investment Associate. After completing his Bachelor's degree, he will then move on to complete his Master’s degree. Austin has been a lifelong resident in Winter Haven with his mother, father, and younger brother.
Junior Portfolio Manager
In June 2015, Elijah graduated from Chain of Lakes Collegiate High School with 17 college credit hours. He also graduated with highest honors and was awarded the Bright Futures Scholarship. Over the course of his four years of high school, Elijah earned 128 community service hours. Eli also served as captain of the golf team, and a member of Future Farmers of America. During the course of his senior year, Eli completed his Eagle Scout with troop 525. He is now attending Florida Atlantic University; Elijah's major is Finance. After college, Eli plans to join the firm full time as a junior investment officer. In the time that he is home, he is here at Aventail Wealth Management as a Junior Portfolio Manager. Eli has resided in Winter Haven all of his life with his mother, father, and younger brother.
